So a couple of weeks ago, i had this friend of mine (we havn't seen since graduation from uni 2 years ago) buzz me and say...."oh my! this babe u have rilly changed" (most likely judging from my blackberry updates/comments/pictures) and i'm like "y do u think so"? And then she says...mehn since your relationship status changed from "free" to "busy" you have sha changed....more happy moods, more smiles, more jokes and so on and i kept on arguing in my defense that i'm still the same old me but she wldn't let me win the argument.
This got me thinking, does this thing called love have such a strong hold on us? Is it rilly dat glaring (jst like you can smell garlic immediately you enter into a room) when you see a guy/girl in love? Is it magical? Is it stupid or blind as people say? Does it make you do crazy stuff for the other person? Is the hurt from some1 you love as grave as a death sentence? Does it have disadvantages just like many other things/subjects do? Can love be felt for two or more people with same intensity and at the same time? Is love time-bound?i could go on and on with my questions...
Well....i would try to answer some of these questions, (just my 2 cents, feel free to comment agreeing or disagreeing) drawing my answers basically from my experience in my very short years of feeling this feeling and from my observation of other people...
Is it glaring when you see two people in luv? ok so let me first say that PDA's (public display of affection) isn't so much of an evidence that two people (partners not strangers) are in love. I have come to realize that some people could be very physically involved without being emotionally involved... But then, difficult as it may be sometimes, i think you can tell that two people are in love when you see them..i remember once when i told my sister that i was gonna introduce my boyfriend as 'my friend' to my mum for some reasons then and she was like, "wot? r u kidding? d sparks are all over the place, they cant be suppressed no matter how hard you try". I mean you smile without even knowing for no specific reasons, you tend to remove a particle from his/her hair/cloth/woteva, you have this funny look (you probably would deny if you were told) when a member of the opposite sex engages in a 'harmless' convo with him/her...there are several other 'moves' you could see that are suggestive of the fact that love is in the air...may not be true all the time though.
Is love magical? ok so me thinks that love and magic have similar effects on people but aint sufficient synonyms for each other. just like magic, love can make you do and undo. Have you ever thought to yourself " what spell did this guy/girl cast on me?" I mean you probably wouldnt do that thing you did on a normal day. So yeah just like magic, love can knock your thinking cap off and make you act on impulse.
Is love stupid or blind? Hard truth but yes, love can be rilly stupid...ok, lets paint this scenario together...Ngozi is in luv with Chuks (some ibo luv going on here), Chuks happens to luv variety so much and so he has a problem sticking to one girl. Ngozi is fully aware of his cheating nature and as a matter of fact has caught him severally and yet she decides she luvs him and would marry him despite all the affairs, or Titi and Kola planning to get married knowing fully well the great incompatibility of their genotypes (as and as)?. pleaaseee, what other name do we call these 'love' shared by the couples painted here? Its nothing else but plain STUPID!! I mean being in luv in a very wonderful feeling and most times the right choices are the hardest to make, but its a lot safer to luv with ur heart + brains. How about luv being blind? LOL. Well what i do know is that love shouldn't be blind to warning signs, but blind to partner's mistakes and weaknesses and be willing to help them in strengthening those weak areas.
Does luv have disadvantages? I guess that would be a big NO. Yes with luv there comes occasional hurts, disappointments, disagreements, some 2mins 'regret' (lyk why the hell did i say yes to you in the first place or why did i even ask you out) and so on, but i doubt all these feelings can be sufficiently summarized using the word disadvantage. Love is surely a good thing, but just like life, you gotta taste the bad side of it for it to be better appreciated.
In love with 2 people, same intensity and same time? yeah i think its possible cos love is a choice..Ok i need your input on this one....

BLOGGERS
Ok...so for those of us who are currently in the blackberry world ( mehn! it took a lot of convincing from a friend who made nonsense of my will power to actually get that thing) or were once in that crazy world, you probably have come across or came across a broadcast (aint they just annoying sometimes) listing some of the things you do that makes you know you are normal. Here goes some things listed in that BC: you own a face book account, you own a black berry phone, you use acronyms rather than the full words e.g lol, rofl, etc, you eat rice like three days in the week at most (applies basically to Nigerians), use emoticons in every chat even when they do not express your emotion at that time and so on....so i'm thinking to myself...why wasn't blogging on that list?
Ok so i met this guy some time ago and we got chatting, you know getting to know ourselves and all, asking the usual first meeting questions: what did you study in skool, what are your likes and dislikes, interests, best movie/food/friend and so on (you get my drift sha) and then he finally asks "do you own a blog?". I'm like no i dont and he's like "really? you gotta be kidding me"...
Anywayz, he gave me his blog name and i checked it out once or twice. But in recent times, ( i sincerely do not know what's responsible for this) i have developed this habit of going through different blogs every morning. Its like a morning ritual- first thing i do when i get to work (i get to work really early so i do all the blog reading before the day's work starts). Particularly interesting and thoughts provoking sometimes is a blog owned by some guy called SugarKing (i wonder what makes him think he's sweet...lol). I mean his blog is usually what i need to get me out of a sad mood or give me a crazy idea or even get me to 'attempt to write'. And so this is it! i finally decided to own a blog....I'm officially a blogger! yay! lol! like dat feels any different from the days of being the non-blogging gurl who keeps her thoughts bottled up in her mind or shared with some friends.
So i'm not gonna come on here and bug you with the usual expressions we here like "writing has always been second nature to me" or "i've been writing since i was 2yrs old (like hell you have) or "writing is my life" ( pls i'm not hating or saying these statements aint true sometimes), i'm just gonna be here to enjoy myself, like share happy and sad times, share funny gists....just basically enjoy this space...and i hope you enjoy reading too...or at least pretend small...lol.....
